Our Activity Room

We have just revolutionized our marriage and life together!! The "man cave" has been re-invented into the "Activity Room". Jordan likes to play games and I like to blog, yet my computer battery is dead unless plugged in and so I didn't really get on it much since I didn't have a desk.

That all changed today and has changed everything as we know it!!!

Welcome our new desk!

I love my chair!

Besides some at home tasks today, we have spent time "together" doing our activities!

Beauty and the Beast and a SURPRISE!!!!

Our Kid Date centered this main event of Beauty and the Beast!
*outside Walton Art Center

To all those wondering, yes Jordan sang all before the show and then with great effort whispered his singing once the show began. I was awesome! My most favorite show EVER!

But that is not where our great date ended to my SURPRISE! We headed out of the Art Center and at some point up Dickson Jordan had me close my eyes and walked me all over the place it seemed. I ended up here:

and opened my eyes to this cute spot, awesome and to this..

LOOK at that view of Old Main and Dickson St. It was lovely!!!

I was shocked and so happy to be here. Fun way to end our night, but at this point I didn't realize that we were at Dickson St. Inn and staying the night too!

The view from our room and it had it's own balcony.
I'm beyond thankful for my husband and his thoughtfulness for such a special evening. I don't deserve such a great creative man!  Our goal is to stay at a Bed and Breakfast each year for our Anniversary and since year 2 is just a couple weeks away this worked perfect!

I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff is amazing, the room was lovely and each room has a different decor to it. This is an older home remodeled and it is just exquisite!!!

KID NIGHT, DATE NIGHT!

Jordan and I have a huge passion for DISNEY WORLD!!! I know you might have been expecting something deeper, but there it is, we love Disney World and all the goodness of being a fun kid! So when we heard that the show: Beauty and the Beast was coming to Fayetteville we knew we would have to get tickets!

So in honor of our Disney fun night, I decided to make it a fun kid night all together. We will be having grilled cheese sandwiches, mac-n-cheese, green beans and chocolate milk for our supper. I found the fun kid plates for $1 at target and grabbed some butcher paper for the table cloth with crayons!

On my side I wrote out fun kid questions for us to chat about.

On his side I wrote him notes.

And then we will be off to sing and be merry to the lovely Beauty and the Beast!!!

Hope you all can have a little fun this weekend!

Whoo my DINING room table!!!!

So, about 3 weeks ago my mom sent me a photo of a table and bench she had found that would go in my dining room and matched what I had been looking for. She had them order it and we, well I have probably been more excited, but Jordan has been a good sport to share in the excitement, anyhow I have been waiting in anticipation since them!

My parents called this past Sat. and dad asked Jordan to come down for the day and play golf so we agreed as we had no plans and haven't seen them in awhile and my brother just got back from kaleo all summer. My parents called the table company and the table was in, PERFECT!!!! Two birds with one stone!

We load it up, take my dad's car back to Fayetteville and have our dear friend, Joe, come over and unload it for us. We both were so excited that we thought, really how hard can it be to put legs on a table. -the table company said all we had to do is put on the legs, easy-

We start with the bench. I unpack the box and all the legs and screws and Jordan tightens the screws. Bench looks great, we took a seat and it was sturdy and just perfect, so happy!!!

I begin to unpack the crazy packing job of the table. I'm cutting, unwrapping, removing pieces that are screwed in that read "discard", while Jordan is continuing to tighten screws in the legs. The table at this point is top down with legs in the air. So we grab it and realize "it's heavy" and turn the table to it's side, and then with one more umph of muscle we slowly turn the table to stand on it's 4 legs and hear the sound of cracking wood.....

right down the middle of our table!!!!!!!! It still fills me with shock and devastation! I just covered my mouth, no tears, complete shock! We couldn't believe it. We were so happy, so excited and just thrilled and then....Jordan quickly prayed for somehow the table to be returned and a new to come.
I spend the rest of the night so stressed and all next morning knowing I would somehow have to come up with the money again to buy another table, oh such an awful feeling. I called my mom first thing and told her. She said she would call the table company people. And then right around 12:30 while eating lunch, I get a text message from my mom saying how they said to package up the table and a new one will be ordered with          NO CHARGE! Praise the Lord!

Here is an example of a piece I removed.

Here is another piece that should NOT have been removed. The center support for the leaf and the whole table.

the piece that broke off

and here our devastation sits before us everyday in our garage.

So here sits the lovely bench waiting on it's partner the table!
I know it's a table, but words can't describe how even this small act of God's provision helps us so much. We truly can't wait to have people over to feed their bellies at this table!

Kidney stone

Last night around midnight Jordan woke up in severe pain. So we went straight to the ER where they quickly ( I was impressed at how quick) they got him back and gave him some pain meds and ran a couple tests to reveal the kidney stone in his bladder wall.

We finally left the ER at 5:30 this morning. He has passes the kidney stone and we have slept and relaxed all day.

My poor husband was such a trooper through so much pain, I'm so glad he is feeling better!!!

Fun filled Friday

I got this verse from a devotion that Fellowship sends out to women and it really hit home in the season I'm in:

Isaiah 58:11 (New International Version)

11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

Also, today is wonderful because we get to have our dear friends Stephen and Sarah Billings stay with us!! So excited to catch up and visit with them!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Blessings to you :)

Books in my life

I'm a person that truly enjoys learning from others and lately I've been loving my time with God in the morning along with reading a book to encourage and teach me.

This book is challenging and directing for so many different seasons if life. Some how it has snuck passed me all these years and my friend Elizabeth gave it to me to borrow and it's great! I read for women of any age. It teaches about our role with God, being a wife and a mother.

I started the Beth Moore bible study last night with my friend Stephanie. I've always held the book of Revelation at arms distance with the idea it's too crazy and chaotic and scary so I'll just let be what will be. But Beth presents it as a book of God's Revelation of himself in perfection of the blessings to the world. She encouraged us to constantly pray for a fresh revelation of God daily.

Well that's all! I hope you each get daily time with God and enjoy all the blessings he gives us!!! Blessings upon you today :)

Beach Family Pics.

We ate at the Back Porch our last evening and is was amazing. Everything I had hoped!

Jordan says this just looks vacation. I feel like it could be a post card that read, "wish you were here".
Here are some of my favorites taken mostly by the great photographer Jordan:
Our Wright Parents

I think this picture is beautiful of Pat.

He likes to point the camera in my face and say "smile". A LOT!

3 Generations of Wright Men.

I have only had this man in my life a short while, but I just love him to bits. Great, great face!!!

Me and my man!

Anthony and Lisa, adorable children.

Lynn and Logan

How sweet it is...

Thanks Wright parents for taking us on this trip. It was great and so much fun with the family. We love you!!!

Out for a stroll..

After supper at the Red Bar we went over to Seaside. I have never been here but have heard for years, from all my friends, that I would love it and I did! We had the best evening just strolling around this cute area with Luke.

Awww, brothers!

I'm so proud of this guy!

How adorable is this post office?!! I'd mail you all letters daily if I got to go here!

If we would have been during the day this would have been so fun!

Delicious Gelato, makes me miss Italy but will do.

Out for a stroll or has my grandmother use to say, "a saunter".

How delightful did this little cove look? I could have sat here all evening a chatted with a group of my girl friends with wine in hand :) The boys didn't agree, haha.
