Fun Family Day!

Jordan is gone every week this summer for training stuff, so when he called yesterday at 10:30 to get lunch, snacks, and dinner for Cooper all packed up, I was so excited!

We started our day with lunch

We enjoyed Table Mesa and had their special, seafood quesadillas- yum! Afterwards we went through the 5-10 museum which was fun!

Then we took a stroll to Crystal bridges

Cooper was so good!! He slept some and then just looked around at all the art, trying to culture him early :)

We took this gorgeous path back to the square and came across the splash park! Since this was impromptu, cooper just played in his clothes and diaper!

It was so fun watching him play with other kids and really figure this out. He started just on the side, then did a little yelling at the water and then slowly got more brave to go through it. So fun to watch him do things on his own and then clap bc he's proud of himself. He was sooo social and friendly, made me proud!

We came home and watched the Elmo documentary, it was really good!

Today we had Rick's breakfast, the farmers market and have Cooper's 1 year pics tonight! Can not believe that they are here already!!! This time last year I was one big lady right now, ha! Now I have this wonderful, smart baby boy that I'm just crazy about. I love being his momma!

Gully Park

One of the parks in town does a free concert once a month and I went with some of my coworkers and their kids. It was so fun watching Cooper run around and play with all his buddies, such the big kid! He even got to eat his 1st pizza thanks to Mrs. Alison. I watched one of the girl's other two kids till she met us, a little glimpse of having 3-lots of talking involved!!! :)

I loved tonight so much! It was cool, food for $5, lots of dancing, chill music and watching kids play-great summer night!

A modge podge

Last weekend we headed to Conway for some time with family and for Jordan to get to play some golf.

Cooper played and played with my old chair.

We ate a lot of chick fil a, I love this place!!!

But sadly we ended our weekend with a very sick dad :( sick as a dog and laying with his dog-mans best friend!

I've done a lot of this lately..

I'm enjoying our James study so much, maybe enjoy isn't the right word but feeling stretched with a heart that stirs to be changed by God.

We enjoyed a night of kickball with our community group last night, such a wonderful group of people! We are so blessed by them all-missed the McEntire Clan but looking forward to seeing them tomorrow!

Cooper is just a happy busy boy that constantly says "out" to go play outside, he has no clue how hot it is! He loves it out there!!

Tonight we are going to Gully Park for a concert with some co workers and their kids. We have Cooper's 1 year pics this weekend and nothing else! Just hanging out at home :)

Cooper 11 months

This guy is 11 months old! Can't believe it and can't believe all that he learns everyday. He is growing into such a fun yet sensitive little guy. He is very curious, yet has caution for anything new :) He has mastered the walking and is beginning to use words for his communication (dada, mama, m=more w/sign, out), if not understood then a huge fit comes!

my memories:
-size 4 diapers, 12-18 mos clothes, loves Elliot his lovie, eating more solids (muffins, bananas, toast, goldfish, veggies, loves sweet potatoes, yogurt, graham crackers, eggs, cheese and is trying new stuff all the time) not okay with cold meat yet.
-wakes up 6:30-7 nurses, breakfast at 8, nap at 9, lunch at noon, nap at 2, snack, dinner at 6, bed at 7:30. I have begun the weaning process and am going straight to a sippy. He is getting breast milk during the day before naps. I'm trying the Nuk Active Cup and see how he does with this.
-loves baths, hates getting out!
-loves being outside and enjoys his splash table and trampoline

I'm loving learning more about this little boy and how he just hugs my neck back these days, melts my heart. I'm looking forward to celebrating his birthday next month, but am in a bit of a shock that it's already here! Love, love, love this past year with him!

Father's Day love

Last weekend we had Pops, Gramma and Logan up to visit. We ate delicious food and just had so much fun playing! It was special to celebrate father's day all together and let these Dad's know how wonderful they are. Our day started w church and was cut short bc our smart, growing too fast fella figures out that by screaming at all the babies he gets out of jail free, well church jail and off to hangout w Gramma!

Then lunch at red lobster, a afternoon of golf, yummy dinner and the guys building Cooper his 1st trampoline. He enjoys the one at my work so much!

Melt my heart!!!

Cooper turned 11 mos last Friday, need to get to that post. He has a giant giraffe in his room...

He wakes up every morning wanting to pet it and give him a kiss. It's the funniest morning routine!

He also will grab my hand or whoever will go, and take me to the back door and say "out". This has got to be his 1st real work besides mama and dada! He loves it out there.

I've started the whole weaning process and am in torment of to be excited or sad. I'm both and I'm ok with that.

My momma is coming tomorrow and we are so excited to play with Nana!!! I'm exhausted after my hot yoga, Go Thunder and Happy Tuesday!

Family weekend!

Jordan got home mid Friday afternoon to begin our fun family time!!! We miss him so much when he is gone.

Sat. Nana and Papa Joe came up for a visit and just played an played. Cooper got a new outdoor and indoor chair, this is his new obsession! A splash table to attempt to keep him out of my fountain and lots of kisses!

Today we played outside before church. Enjoyed a great sermon on James which goes along with my Beth Moore study for the summer. God must have a lot to teach me from this small book and then a fun afternoon at home. We just got in from meeting Sadie McEntire!!!! She is the newest addition to our community group and we are so excited! It makes Cooper not the baby anymore and him seem so big next to a newborn.

Cookie for thought....

This is from the lady that i go to for my hot yoga classes, thought this was good and challenging because I'm loving cookies right now!

A student asks, “How can I not eat three of those frosted sprinkle cookies at work today?” ~ Anonymous (you know who you are)

Craving a cookie is a normal thing, right? A cookie is not a bad thing and our desire for a cookie is not a bad thing. The cookie and the desire are both neutral. But we tend to make the cookie not neutral by giving it a past and a future. It goes like this, we think of how good the last cookie we had was (or wasn't). If it was good, we want another one. If it wasn't good, we need to make up for our last cookie experience. So we meet our cookie in the past. This cookie has a history and it is supposed to do something for us. It is meant to create another moment of happiness or make up for the disappointment of our last cookie experience. The cookie is not neutral when we meet it and we are attached to the story of what it is supposed to do for us.

The cookie, however, has no power to bring us happiness or satisfaction....because it is NEUTRAL but we don't know that because we are not meeting it in the Present (ahem....Reality). And because we are not Present with the cookie, we repeat with cookie two and cookie three. I heard that doing the same thing over and over wanting different results is the definition of INSANITY. Susan Powder, where are you now???

We do a similar thing with our desire for the cookie. We make a story about how we should or should not have it. We make the cookie some sort of reward or punishment and the desire for the cookie somehow makes us good or bad. Judgment. Ick!

JUDGE NOT THE COOKIE, NOR THE DESIRE FOR THE COOKIE!!!

So, what's the antidote for thinking our happiness is inextricably linked to cookies....??? Presence. Presence brings awareness. The mental anxiety created by the cookie is subconscious but with awareness comes CHOICE. If we are present, we can see (be aware) of what's happening in our heads. Only then can we choose to respond rather than be dragged by our craving completely unawares and seemingly helpless to the first, second or third cookie-of-good-and-evil.

I say in class all the time, “Your breath is the quickest path to the Present moment.” I'm sure I read that somewhere. Probably in 'The Power of Now' by Eckart Tolle. It just means to connect, notice, be with what's right in front of you. Do what you are doing instead of doing what you're not doing. The only time we can be happy is right now. With or without a cookie. The power of happiness is not in the cookie.

So, meet the cookie with no expectation. Meet the cookie with no past or future. Meet the cookie in it's natural, neutral state without giving it power it doesn't have. Meet the cookie without judgment of your desire for the cookie. Meet the cookie with enjoyment in the Present! Then you'll find that happiness is Present with a cookie or without a cookie. :)

Oh, and P.S. Go back and re-read this and replace 'cookie' with another word, like 'relationship', perhaps...it's a fun game!

and seriously, feel free to submit a question. we'll see what happens!

Namaste for now!

New adventures

Cooper has always been extremely sensitive to new textures. Doesnt like the ball pit or bean pit at my clinic, hated the grass, didn't care much for the pool, hates the ocean and took him all week to enjoy the sand. So when I found him here

I was so shocked! He wanted to get in so badly!!!

Then this morning I find my monkey here

This is on his way down after sitting up here for a bit. I guess my "mom eyes" need to sharpen up as he's everywhere!!!!
