Weekend of Fun, Friends and Family

This weekend began with me going down to Conway on Friday to celebrate the life of a dear family friend who had fought the tough battle of ALS. This service was special as my dad got to honor this man and we all rejoiced at John's new, restored, healthy body in Heaven! I got to go walking with my best friend Meg, which was so refreshing and good for my heart! She is getting married in Nov and I'm so excited this couple!

Jordan spent the weekend in Fayetteville playing golf with his dad and brother and spending time with some dear friends. He had a little bit of a boys' weekend and I was really excited for him to get this time with these men he loves so much.

While in Conway, my dear friend Stephanie got engaged to Garrett Peters and we had a party to celebrate the beginning of this great adventure for these two people. It was a lot of fun to see old friends and catch up with people. My mom was so much help and I'm so very thankful for her being there to help me.

This is my sweet friend Anne, we often think we look similar in photos!
Here's the future bride  and her bling!
And then I returned home early Sunday to have breakfast with a special woman in my life, KJ. She was one of my small group leaders growing up and it was so great to spend time with her. While driving home after church, I was refreshed by these "colors" of fall that surround me in Fayetteville and I am just so thankful for where I am!

Our 1st Christmas Tree!!!

Yesterday (Tuesday) I came home exhausted from work and was resting on the couch when my husband came in and told me to sit up and close my eyes. He goes back out the front door and comes in and says "open" and there was our first tree in the middle of our living room!!!! I was so so so excited! It is a pre-lit, 7.5 feet tall tree, and if one of the lights goes out it doesn't ruin the whole tree! I'm so excited about Christmas and being able to celebrate it with Jordan and decorate our home! He had gone to Sam's and picked us out the PERFECT tree. Then later that night as new Sam's members we went and just feasted with our eyes on all the "great" purchases that are to come. It was so much fun walking around together and seeing the deals!

My Cute Frames!

This weekend my mom and dad came to stay with us, which was so much fun! While they were here mom helped me put my photos in my frames. These are in the living room, and I took up close ones so you can attempt to see the photos I picked for each frame. It was such a hard task to do as my photographer took so many to help us remember every moment of our wonderful wedding! I love these and they might be my favorite part of our home! Hope you all had great weekends, Love the Wrights!

Yummy Pasta

Jordan and I went a couple weeks ago over to some friends' house and she made us this AMAZING pasta! So this week we both were craving it and she sent me the recipe and I made it last night. It was so good and we enjoyed every bite! This photo does not depict how great this dinner is, but at least here it is....

The Recipe is:
You'll need:
-4 chicken breasts
-3 cheese tortllini by Bertolli. The BIG version.
-a jar of sundried tomatoes
-couple small cans of sliced mushrooms
-turkey pepperoni cut in half
-olive oil
-minced garlic
-1 can cream of mushroom soup

For extra sauce:
-1 cup milk
-2 tbsp flour
-2 tbsp butter

Directions:
so cut the chicken breasts up into bite-sized pieces and cook it on the stove on high with a little (2-3 tbsp) of oil. I put some minced garlic (really as much as you think, maybe 2 tbsp) in and some basil, salt and pepper. Cook till there's no more pink in the center. Turn it down to medium and add sundried tomatoes (use a fork to get them out..you don't want all that oil), mushrooms, and pepperonies and keep on medium.

While this is cooking, boil some water and put the pasta in. It only takes a few minutes. Drain it and put in with the chicken. Add the can of mushroom soup and stir ALL ingredients together.

On the side make extra cream sauce by melting the butter over low heat. Slowly add the flour and milk. Bring it to a boil stirring constantly. Take it off the heat once its boiled for one minute. Stir in some salt and pepper. Add this sauce to the pasta and meat.

And ENJOY!!!!

First Roses!!!

Tuesday night I went and enjoyed a nice chat with my dear friend Kate Walker. It was so fun to sit and chat with a good friend and get caught up with life. Then I came home to my husband had lit a candle and cooked dinner. He went and bought wine and ROSES!!! I have never gotten roses from Jordan as he normally buys my favorite flower, a daisy. It was just a night of him making me feel special. It was such a surprise and so much to sit and chat and feel special.

Marriage Prayers...

This weekend I went to Conway to celebrate the upcoming Swann wedding with my friend Megan. Megan is marrying Justin in November and this weekend was the beginning of all the fun showers and events to come. I got to spend time with dear friends and my family. I even got to see my brother which was great! I ate at Stoby's my favorite place in Conway and had dinner with great fellowship. I miss all of these girls as they know my heart and how to make me laugh. It was so fun to see everyone in Conway and to see all the goodies that Meg got to help start their life together. This couple is amazing and I'm excited to join them in this journey to their wedding day! I love them both dearly and pray blessings over their marriage. I ask all that read my blog to pray for marriages. Pray against the enemy trying to tear them apart and pray for us newlyweds as we learn how to be married. It is hard and scary and I see Satan working all the time. Thanks for fighting with prayers a spiritual battle that is tearing through God's people! I give thanks for my husband as he stayed in Fayetteville all weekend (he did not like me not here, haha). He had to work, but also had some guys over and spent time with them. He cleaned our house, even the bathrooms-I couldn't believe it! I'm thankful for this man and am glad to be back with him today!

Golfing, What???

Today, Jordan had the great idea to go to the golfing range to enjoy this beautiful day and begin the adventure of teaching me to golf. I did really well with boy clubs and a too large golf glove. He is a great teacher and offers lots of encouragement and patience!

Today was absolutely beautiful!! I didn't want you to miss it! I'm loving living up here with all the scenery.
Yes, there I am, don't I look professional. And yes I did try to play, and I continued to get better and better.
Jordan in action. He is way better than me!

Birthday Memories

Monday was my birthday, and Jordan spoiled me rotten. The morning started with him making me french toast for breakfast, I told him he had started a new tradition!!!  He brought me my favorite salad from Market Place and then a birthday cake of OREOS! I love oreos, we love oreos and so we set up my birthday plate full of them and feasted, it was great! We also went to see the movie Fireproof, which was awesome and are now working through the book called: The Love Dare. We are having a lot of fun learning a new depth to unconditionally loving one another.

If you know me well, you know that one of my very favorite things to do since, well my mom started it, is to display all my birthday cards, so here is my collection. They always stay up a week afterwards to celebrate and enjoy the cards.
Here is my birthday cake with the attempt to spell 24, it's hard to see I know. And the amazing sweater jacket that I am wearing is a new gift from my parents, I love it! It is starting to get cold up here and I just can't take it already!!!

A Touch of Fall

Living in Fayetteville we are slowly watching all the leaves turn beautiful colors and it makes me smile to think that our God created these leaves to turn all these radiant colors for us to enjoy, but even how much more He enjoys our beauty! So with Fall starting to surround us, I just had to decorate our home with simple tastes of the season. If you get the chance to drive up here in the next couple of weeks, consider it a beautiful gift from your Maker!

The Beginnings...

The beginning of this new life journey began with a GLORIOUS celebration on August 15, 2008. That day was perfect and we feel blessed to have celebrated with so many family and friends, thank you for joining us in this journey. But now, the real fun begins with us getting all settled in our new apartment and learning to call Fayetteville our home. We hope you are all doing great! We love you lots!!!
