Slumdog Millionaire

Goodmorning! We are about to depart to go to church, but I had to write about my wonderful weekend! We got to spend such precious time with both of our families. We feel so blessed to enjoy our families so much. In a society where it seems to be more excited about being detached and alone, we find ourselves rejoicing over the fun we had with our family! It was so refreshing to see them and spend quality time with them. Last night Jordan and I went to see Slumdog Millionaire with a couple friend of ours'. This movie is GREAT! It shows a true look at India's culture and keeps you excited throughout the whole movie. I never had a moment of feeling bored or there was a lull. So, if you need something fun to do inside, since it's so so so cold, go see this. I think you can learn a whole lot about India and ways to pray for this country. Beauty in Beaches and Books

Jordan and I have begun the new year with new bible studies. Mine has been such a sweet time for me that I wanted to share it. It's by Beth Moore and called: Living Beyond Yourself, Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit. I have just begun week three on love and have spent the past two weeks exploring the goodness of the Holy Spirit. I encourage anyone who is seeking something new to help their growth with God to go get this study. I spent two weeks ago admiring the beauty of the beaches in Hawaii and now God reveals even greater beauty through this book. I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend. The Lord continues to show Jordan and I purpose in Fayetteville by bringing people in our lives to lead and encourage more towards Christ. I've been blessed with the grace to disciple a freshman and now start a new bible study with a group of kappas who will be seniors next year. Jordan spent time last night with some Indian buddies and with one of the men that he has discipled and is now going to India! We are so excited to watch God move us and direct us in our lives! Blessings abundantly to all we love! 

Aloha Honeymoon!!!!

Jordan and I just spent the last week on the magical island of Maui! We just took our honeymoon and loved every moment. The adventure of our world as the Wrights continue to get better and better. We had so many fun memories together from this trip. It really helped us and our marriage to spend time together and to start creating our memories. We enjoyed everything we did and got to explore a lot of Maui. We went whale watching, humpback whales, woke up at 3:00 am to watch the sunrise over a volcano, a cataman sunset cruise, drove on the road to Hana, hungout on the beach with paddle ball and snorkeling, eating lovely food, and meeting people from all over the world. It was such a good idea for us to delay this trip as we felt like we really got to truly enjoy our time in Maui. We are so thankful for this trip and all the time we got to spend together. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been and so fun that I got to see it all with my husband. He planned the whole trip and did an excellent job. We are now home and how sweet our home is to us. It's fun to go away and then come back to our home. 

We met Justin Leonard's caddy's wife and she got us tickets to this golf tour. that we went to before we boarded the plane to come home.

Time to sit...

As the beginning of the New Year seems to be a time that a lot of people try to evaluate where they are and where they would like to be I've been one of those people. This past semester has been so crazy with the hustle and bustle of marriage, Fayetteville, job, school and meeting new people, I found myself overwhelmed most of the time and very distant in any time I had with the Lord. Jordan and I have seen how hard it is in the daily life of working to spend time with God and with each other. We strive this semester to learn to sit. I want to be able to sit in the mornings, which I love, and spend time with my Maker. I want to be able to sit with my husband and just enjoy us chatting and not thinking of all the things I "think" must get done NOW! I have started a study on the fruits of the spirit by Beth Moore. When I miss my time with God, I do not show my character with the fruits of the spirit because I have not allowed my spirit time with my God. Jordan bought us a book that we will do weekly this next year called: Starting Your Marriage Off Right. We have heard great things about this book and it will be good for us to spend time weekly chatting and challenging each other to be a better partner. 

My dear friend Steph posted a few weeks ago about how she has been having a hard past year and half and as she is now starting to see goodness. She had hoped that year would have been tied with it's bow and put away nice and neatly. I believe I thought this about my past year and all that I was enduring and learning from God. As a result of it though I see that I get overwhelmed with fear, horrible fear of what's next, waiting for something bad, and living days of anxiety. Today in my new bible study, I realized that as believers we will go through tribulations, we are promised this so that we may be strengthen! I have allowed fear to bury me instead of allowing God's word to seep into my soul and believe that I am in a place of wonderful JOY right now and to not fear hardships, I know they will come some day (no surprise), but to rejoice then because I'm being strengthen and my God is being glorified. 

I often right posts of just our life, but I have been missing the depth of our household by not sharing the heart of Jordan and I. We are doing great and are loving being married. We leave for our honeymoon tomorrow and are so giddy! We both are learning to balance the demands of life, we have no idea how people do this with kids, haha! I pray that your year will be blessed with love, peace and joy from only your Maker! Love to you all!!!

What a Wonderful Holiday Season!

Well, Jordan and I had a wonderful first Christmas together. It really was so much fun to spend time with family and to celebrate with one another. Last Christmas is when Jordan proposed in India and this Christmas we got to spend it together, I'm very thankful. We celebrated in Fayetteville before we went to my parents house Christmas Eve. We started our morning with cinnamon rolls, made by Pat, and gifts. We went to the Christmas Eve service with my parents, which is one of my favorite traditions. Our family got to get up and light the Christ Candle of the Advent Wreath, so that was a special memory. We celebrated Christmas morning at my parents and then went the rest of the day with the Wrights. We met up with the whole Wright clan and later that evening went to see Marley and Me-such a sweet movie. I had a blast with the Jordan's family (I don't have any photos because his mom has them all). It was great to spend time with them. I'm thankful for all the family and friends that I got to see throughout the holiday season. I'm thankful for my husband being in the same place as me and for our families to be healthy, it is really a blessing. 

We spent the New Year's with Jordan's family in Little Rock and a group of their dear friends who loved on us so much throughout our wedding season. We played Whoo-nu, which I highly recommend, and rang in the New Year. This was our first New Year's together and I'm thrilled at all the fun that is to come with my husband in 2009! We are now getting ready for our HONEYMOON to HAWAII on Sunday and are so giddy and excited! Love to you all and I know we are blessed by your role in our lives! 

My family has started a tradition of "hiding the pickle" in the tree. We have this glass pickle that my parents hide and whoever finds it gets an extra goodie! Well Luke has won the past 2 years and this year the newcomer won, Jordan. So here is Luke passing off the pickle to Jordan. Jordan got a $25 gift card to chick-fil-a, not bad!
